I am just finished (hopefully) with layout comps for a web site revamp. I am pretty stoked on how it turned out. We didn’t do the branding so I had to take an existing logo and create something around it.

I really enjoy the challenge of creating something that melds with another person’s work (the logo in this case). Hopefully the site integrates the boldness of the logo well, I think it does.

Now I will devote myself to pray that the client sees it the same way I do. It’s always super discouraging when you do something you like and then have design-retarded clients decide they want to meddle. This is actually what I dislike the most about my job. If you isn’t a chef then stay out o the kitchen!

BTW: I don’t have any interaction with this client so I am not talking about them.

I’ve been a Washington Mutual customer for around 4 years and really have had no complaints to speak of.

Enter Chase, exit happy banking.

I can’t deposit money into my account at an ATM and couldn’t even use my card for weeks. This is because I opened my account in California and then moved to Washington state. Come to find out WAMU has different zones and they aren’t hardly linked together so when Chase converted Washington state to it’s new crapfest it effectively has made it so my CA card and account is worthless.

Just last Saturday I was pushed over the edge when I had to go in to the teller to deposit $140 cash because the ATM wouldn’t work. He in turn had to wire the money to a California branch which will hopefully put it in my account sometime today (Monday) although it hasn’t been deposited as of right now (2:30 PM). Are you kidding me? Why don’t you Pony Express that ATM envelope on down yonder to that other country called California.

BEGIN RANT: Are you telling me that in today’s world with all of our wonderful technology there’s not a better way you could be handling this transition Chase? Certainly I am not the only person to move from California to Washington with a WAMU account right? Are you screwing us all over or just me?

Someone will say “why not just change banks” to which I would reply, “I would love to if there was another bank that had brick and mortar branches as close to my house as well as good online banking. I really don’t feel like redoing all of my bill pay addresses either.”

I hate my bank! Aaaaghhh!

P.S. In the large scope of things this is not a big deal to me but it’s enough of a continual poke in the eye that I need to vent. Done.

So tonight I am going to play volleyball and decide to track down a bhutaneese refugee guy I met at church who said he liked to play. I didn’t have his number or address, only his first name, which I thought was khata.

I called one of the leaders in our church outreach to the bhutaneese and after explaining who I was looking for he said he was at the guy’s house and would ask if he wanted to play - he did.

I go to pick him up and it is the wrong guy! I had mispronounced his name by just a letter or two and ended up taking a total stranger to volleyball and icecream. How fun is that?

Luckily he was a decent player and we may even get more of his friends to play in a local tournament.

I got my first-run Innova Champion Boss (175g) last week and thought I might share my first impressions.

My first impressions are that it’s not a game changer like the Innova Destroyer was. It’s more like a variant of the Destroyer. Innova’s flight numbers for it do seem accurate. It seems bit less overstable than the Destroyer and just a little bit longer distance-wise.

The rim is even wider than the Destroyer so if you don’t like the Destroyer’s width you definitely won’t enjoy the Boss.

I could definitely see this disc replacing my Destroyer as it gets more broken in.
